Notary
Beginning in February 2026, notary services will be available by appointment only at the Cold Spring, Carrico/Fort Thomas and Newport branches. Please review the information listed below before submitting the appointment form.
Eligibility
- Notary services are available to all patrons ages 18 and older.
- Patrons may have up to three (3) documents notarized per day.
- The signer(s) must be present and provide valid identification.
- Notaries cannot provide legal advice, draft documents, or interpret their content.
- The person requesting the appointment must be the same person who needs document(s) notarized.
Appointments
- Reservations are required.
- No same day appointments are allowed.
- Documents must be in the English language only. Notaries are not permitted to make use of interpreters to communicate with signers.
Identification & Documents
- All signers must present a valid form of photo ID, such as:
- State driver’s license or ID card
- US Passport
- US Military ID
- Permanent Resident Card (Green Card)
- Documents must be completed before appointment, except for the signature(s), which must be signed in front of the notary.
- The notary will not notarize blank, incomplete, or pre-signed documents.
- Document must be typed and not hand written.
- The notary will not print out any documents.
- Notaries are authorized to administer oaths and acknowledgments of documents.
